چکیده
Background: Peri-implantitis, a bacteria-associated inflammatory disease, is characterized by inflammation of the peri-implant mucosa and progressive loss supporting bone, thereby reducing chances dental implant survival. The absence marginal bone crucial for success. aim this study to assess peri-implantitis resolution measuring rate around over period one year more than three years after surgical reconstructive (REC) treatment, apically repositioned flap (ARP) surgery, or combined (COM) treatment with implantoplasty. Methods: Peri-implantitis patients, that underwent therapy implantoplasty enrolled in regular supportive care program follow up ≥12 months, were recruited study. ARP, REC, COM was performed depending on anatomy defect. For REC groups, intraosseous defects filled substitute. ARP group consisted an positioned without osseous surgery. Absence evaluated radiographs treated implants. Results: A total 57 patients (91 implants) included. occurred follow-up 12 42 months (mean = 24 months). yielded 96.7% at level (100% 98% COM, 92.9% ARP) 96.5% patient level. Three implants had be removed two due relapse progression peri-implantitis. Conclusions: This case series demonstrated during lesions resulted favorable biological conditions maintain functional did not show time from years.

A variety of treatment modalities have been proposed for the management of peri-implantitis. These are mostly based on empiric experience and use the systemic administration of an antibiotic in conjunction with surgical intervention. To ensure decontamination of the affected implant surface(s), chemical and/or mechanical debridement is used. For textured implant surfaces, detoxification using i...

Abstract / Introduction: Dental implants have been considered important allies in the rehabilitation treatment of lost teeth, either in single-unit cases or in more complex rehabilitations. However, adverse outcomes may occur, for instance, peri-implantitis, which is an infectious disease similar to chronic periodontitis, afecting peri-implant tissues of which treatment aims at restoring health...

PURPOSE Peri-implantitis, a clinical term describing the inflammatory process that affects the soft and hard tissues around an osseointegrated implant, may lead to peri-implant pocket formation and loss of supporting bone. However, this imprecise definition has resulted in a wide variation of the reported prevalence; ≥10% of implants and 20% of patients over a 5- to 10-year period after implant...
